Job description

RELIABILITY ENGINEER

Seeking a qualified, experienced Reliability Engineer with a strong understanding of equipment reliability, component reliability, process reliability, and maintenance engineering. This role entails developing and utilizing a range of reliability analysis techniques to evaluate effectiveness, gather and assess performance data, and create reports that illustrate findings and provide actionable improvement recommendations.

The Reliability Engineer will investigate individual reliability and dependability issues, determine the best course of action, and consider key factors such as equipment uptime, repair costs, production impact, asset performance, and operational efficiency. This position will also create action plans to support dependable processes while reducing the risk of failures by analyzing solutions, addressing customer requirements, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Prefer 5+ years of experience.

The successful candidate will possess a diverse set of skills and interests and will serve on multiple project teams in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide reliability engineering and maintenance subject matter expertise.
• Support maintenance reviews, vulnerability assessments, and production loss investigations as required.
• Participate in bad actor reviews, reliability-centered maintenance evaluations, and asset performance improvement initiatives as required.
• Drive reliability improvement on assets with a specific focus on increasing production uptime, eliminating production vulnerabilities, improving equipment availability, and reducing operational costs.
• Utilize data analysis to identify and prioritize engineering, operating, and maintenance modifications to drive out the root cause of unplanned downtime.
• Support the development of fit-for-purpose maintenance strategies and robust implementation in the Computerized Maintenance Management System.
• Collaborate with electrical controls, mechanical engineering, manufacturing, and production teams to integrate systems and improve plant reliability.
• Work with production teams to support scheduling of planned maintenance, preventive maintenance, and reliability improvement activities.
• Develop program outputs, reliability reports, technical documentation, and customer-facing deliverables.
• Analyze equipment performance trends and recommend corrective actions to reduce failures and improve long-term reliability.
• Support failure analysis, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning for recurring equipment or process issues.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate Engineering discipline preferred.
• Prefer 5+ years of experience in reliability engineering, maintenance engineering, manufacturing, industrial operations, or a related technical environment.
• Working knowledge and demonstrable application of applicable international codes and standards, including ASME, ANSI, and ISO.
• Experience with Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, FMEA, equipment risk assessment, or reliability-based design reviews.
• Experience performing statistical analysis of test data related to durability, reliability, failure trends, and equipment performance.
• Strong understanding of preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, reliability-centered maintenance, and asset management practices.
• Ability to evaluate equipment uptime, repair costs, production impact, and operational risk when developing reliability recommendations.
• Strong organization and communication skills with the ability to support multiple project teams.
• Detail oriented, with strong analytical skills, problem-solving skills, and technical documentation capabilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment with engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, and production stakeholders.
• Mechanical and/or hydraulic experience a plus.
• Experience estimating and quoting projects.
• Ability to handle onsite support.
• Experience with FMEA, design reviews, and technical reliability reviews.
• Familiarity with code compliance and engineering standards.

SOFTWARE TOOLS

• Experience with SAP, Ultrapipe, PSAIM, PI, or other CMMS programs.
• AutoCAD experience.
• SolidWorks experience a plus.
• Experience using maintenance, reliability, asset management, or engineering software to support reporting, analysis, and project execution.
