Job description

AmericanAg®, a global provider of diversified reinsurance services, is looking for a client-focused Reinsurance Account Manager to join our Farm Bureau® Client Relations Team in our Schaumburg, Illinois office. This is a hybrid position working in the office a minimum of three days a week.

The Reinsurance Account Manager supports the Account Executive (AE), who serves as the team lead, in the day-to-day management and servicing of Farm Bureau® reinsurance accounts. This role is primarily responsible for operational execution, data coordination, and administrative support across Farm Bureau® reinsurance programs. There will be 15-25% travel for this position.

The Reinsurance Account Manager works closely with the AE, internal teams, brokers, and reinsurers to support the delivery of accurate, timely, and high-quality client materials. This role provides an excellent opportunity to build a strong foundation in reinsurance operations and client management.

The Reinsurance Account Manager will be responsible for:

  • Assisting with servicing activities and coordinating with the account team, internal partners, and brokers
  • Participating in and assisting with coordinating annual renewal activities, including developing market visit materials, renewal submissions, presentations, and client placement documents
  • Preparing business materials by running reports, analyzing data, and assembling presentations
  • Coordinating and working closely with internal and external partners to meet client expectations and deliver on service commitments
  • Organizing and maintaining account documentation, correspondence, and records
  • Responding to internal and external inquiries with occasional guidance from other team members
  • Participating in corporate initiatives, training sessions, and process improvement projects
  • Gathering required documentation to support client requests for audit, compliance, and regulatory requests
  • Attending and participating in client meetings, events, and industry conferences

What you will bring to this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, insurance, risk management, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in insurance/reinsurance industry, or in a similar industry
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to take directions, ask thoughtful questions, and learn from feedback
  • Detail-oriented, quality-focused approach, with a strong sense of accountability, follow-through, and accuracy in work product
  • Solutions-oriented mindset, with a willingness to problem-solve, identify continuous improvement opportunities, and support team objectives
  • Well-developed critical-thinking skills, with the ability to analyze information, identify issues, and escalate questions appropriately
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills; collaborative team player
  • Willingness and curiosity to learn technical reinsurance concepts and processes
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel and PowerBI
  • Progress toward or completion of professional industry designations (ARe, CPCU, or similar) is preferred

The expected starting salary range for this position is between $150,000-$200,000. Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position is also eligible for an annual bonus.
