What does a Regulatory Intern do?

A Regulatory Intern assists regulatory affairs teams by helping ensure a company complies with relevant laws and regulations, particularly in industries like pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or finance. Their duties typically involve researching regulations, preparing documentation for submissions, maintaining compliance records, and supporting audits or inspections. This role provides valuable experience in understanding how organizations navigate complex regulatory environments and maintain product or service compliance. Regulatory Interns often work closely with both legal and operational teams, gaining practical insights into the regulatory process.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Regulatory Intern, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Regulatory Intern, you need a foundational understanding of regulatory frameworks, analytical skills, and typically a degree in a related field such as law, life sciences, or public policy. Familiarity with regulatory databases, document management systems, and Microsoft Office is often required. Attention to detail, strong written communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently are standout soft skills. These competencies ensure accurate compliance documentation, effective communication with stakeholders, and smooth support of regulatory processes.

What types of projects and tasks can a Regulatory Intern expect to work on during their internship?

As a Regulatory Intern, you can expect to support the regulatory affairs team by assisting with the preparation and submission of documents to regulatory agencies, conducting research on relevant regulations, and helping to maintain compliance records.
