What is a registered nurse intern?

A Registered Nurse Intern is a newly graduated nurse who is in a transitional period between completing their nursing education and becoming fully licensed or independently practicing. This role allows new nurses to gain hands-on experience under the supervision of experienced nurses and mentors in a clinical setting. The internship helps bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world nursing, focusing on building clinical skills, confidence, and professional competence. Registered Nurse Interns typically rotate through various departments to broaden their exposure and prepare for their future nursing careers.
