Job description

About LakeHouse Senior Living
LakeHouse Senior Living operates care and lifestyle-focused Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care communities across five states, serving approximately thousands of residents and families. Guided by our Pillars of Excellence, LakeHouse fosters a culture of connection, authenticity, and purpose where residents feel at home and Team Members feel inspired to learn, grow, and lead.
As part of one of the largest senior living families in the United States, LakeHouse communities have earned Great Place to Work® certifications from 2022-2026. LakeHouse is a place where purpose thrives, culture unites us, and opportunity is always present. We continually aspire and invest in learning and development opportunities that support our team members' professional growth, ensuring every team member has the tools to build a meaningful and rewarding career.
Your Role:
As the Regional Director of Resident Care, you'll serve as the strategic clinical partner for Regional Operations Leaders, Executive Directors, and Director of Health & Wellness leaders across multiple Assisted Living and Memory Care communities. You'll provide leadership, coaching, and clinical expertise to strengthen community performance, ensure regulatory excellence, develop confident clinical leaders, and support exceptional resident outcomes.
This is a highly visible regional leadership opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse who thrives on influencing strategy, mentoring leaders, improving clinical operations, and driving sustainable performance across multiple communities. Success in this role is measured not only by regulatory compliance, but by your ability to coach rather than do, build collaborative partnerships, influence operational decisions, and develop high-performing leaders who deliver exceptional care.
Position Highlights
Status: Full Time
Schedule: Traditional leadership workweek with flexibility required based on business and operational needs, including occasional evenings, weekends, and emergency support as needed.
Location: Home-based regional position supporting communities throughout Wisconsin. Candidates should ideally reside in Central or Eastern Wisconsin. Exceptional candidates residing in Northern Illinois with convenient access to the assigned territory may also be considered.
Compensation: $120,000-$135,000 annually, commensurate with experience, plus annual bonus eligibility up to 10%
Travel: Approximately 75% throughout the assigned Wisconsin region.
Why You'll Love This Opportunity
  • Partner directly with Regional Operations and Executive Leadership to influence clinical strategy and community performance.
  • Coach and develop Director of Health & Wellness leaders while helping build strong, accountable clinical teams.
  • Lead meaningful quality improvement initiatives that directly impact resident care, regulatory readiness, and operational excellence.
  • Join a collaborative organization that values leadership, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Make a measurable impact across multiple communities while helping shape the future of clinical excellence throughout the region.

What You'll Do
  • Serve as the strategic clinical partner to Regional Operations Leaders, Executive Directors, and Director of Health & Wellness leaders across multiple Assisted Living and Memory Care communities.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop Director of Health & Wellness leaders by building leadership capability, fostering accountability, and creating sustainable success-not by assuming the responsibilities of the community clinical leader.
  • Monitor implementation of clinical policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company standards, Wisconsin regulations, and RCAC/CBRF requirements.
  • Lead and support state surveys, regulatory investigations, and survey readiness activities while partnering with communities to implement sustainable corrective action plans.
  • Conduct community clinical assessments, identify trends, and partner with leadership to strengthen quality, resident outcomes, and operational performance.
  • Analyze clinical performance metrics, quality indicators, and resident care trends to proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide education and leadership development related to regulatory compliance, quality improvement, survey readiness, and clinical best practices.
  • Support the recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and ongoing development of Director of Health & Wellness leaders.
  • Partner with community leadership to review complex clinical situations, resident care concerns, move-in and move-out decisions, and clinical risk scenarios.
  • Conduct regular community visits to provide leadership support, clinical expertise, operational guidance, and performance coaching.
  • Build collaborative relationships across Clinical Services, Operations, Sales, and Human Resources while serving as a trusted advisor to regional leadership.
  • Serve as an interim Director of Health & Wellness when business needs require.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Wisconsin required.
  • Compact RN license preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive nursing leadership experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of successful regional or multi-site clinical leadership supporting Assisted Living and Memory Care communities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Wisconsin Assisted Living regulations, including RCAC and CBRF requirements.
  • Proven success leading state surveys, regulatory compliance, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop Director of Health & Wellness leaders while holding teams accountable for performance.
  • Executive presence with the confidence to influence decisions, collaborate across departments, and effectively communicate with senior leadership.
  • Strong partnership skills with the ability to work collaboratively across Clinical Services, Operations, Sales, and Human Resources.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and electronic clinical documentation systems.
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory.
