Position Summary:

The Director of Installation is responsible for overseeing operations within the installation department, ensuring efficient and effective deployment of resources and execution of installation projects to meet organizational and departmental goals. This role leads installation operations across multiple markets with a strong focus on customer satisfaction, installation quality, safety, profitability, and operational excellence within home improvement installations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor individual office productivity, installation performance, and profitability.
  • Oversee LeafFilter installation operations within assigned territory.
  • Ensure all installation projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with company quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Open new field offices, including hiring, onboarding, and training installation staff and leadership teams.
  • Recruit, hire, manage, and develop regional and local installation managers for company field offices.
  • Partner with sales, operations, warehouse, and customer service teams to ensure seamless project scheduling, product delivery, and installation execution.
  • Track business metrics and ensure operational KPIs, installation cycle times, customer satisfaction scores, quality metrics, and profitability goals are achieved.
  • Drive installation process improvements and standardization across all markets to improve efficiency and customer experience.
  • Lead continuing education and training of regional and local installation managers, installers, and subcontractor crews on installation best practices, safety procedures, product knowledge, and customer service expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA requirements, local building codes, and manufacturer installation standards.
  • Conduct regular field audits and performance reviews to ensure workmanship quality and adherence to installation procedures.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with installation crews, subcontractors, and vendors to support operational growth and service excellence.
  • Resolve escalated installation and customer service concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Experience and Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 10+ years of home improvement or construction experience.
  • 5+ years of leadership or management experience overseeing installation operations and field teams.
  • Experience managing installation projects, remodeling crews, or multi-location installation operations preferred.
  • Strong understanding of residential remodeling, installation processes, job site safety, and quality control standards.
  • Ability to juggle various work activities and shift attention from one task to another to meet the demands of different stakeholders without “dropping the ball.”
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy, team-oriented environment with a “roll up your sleeves” and “win every day” mentality.
  • Hold oneself accountable and responsible while being self-driven in accomplishing goals.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to identify the most efficient and effective pathway to completion.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with installers, subcontractors, customers, and executive leadership.
  • Ability to logically connect ideas, scrutinize and evaluate arguments, identify inconsistencies, solve complex operational problems, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to provide timely and empathetic service through all communication channels while prioritizing customer and team member needs.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license.
  • Must have reliable transportation to/from job sites and field offices to perform job duties.
  • Must be comfortable ascending and descending ladders of varying heights to perform job site inspections and services.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and/or Access).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications:

  • Experience in direct-to-consumer industries.

Travel Requirements:

  • 25%-50% domestic travel required

Overtime/Additional Hours Requirements:

Additional and non-standard hours may be required (exempt).

Physical Requirements:

  • Normal office environment and field office/manufacturing/construction environment.
  • Performs indoor work in a climate-controlled environment and performs work outside in varying temperatures and climates.
  • Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
