Job Purpose

As a Business Development Manager, you'll spearhead customer acquisition and account growth across Scout Freights specialized service offeringssuch as dry/liquid bulk, heavy haul, managed transportation, open-deck, drop-trailer, and temperature-controlled solutions. Youll deliver exceptional service while driving business growth in a fast-evolving logistics environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales targets and earn competitive commission through proactive outreach and effective deal closure.
  • Drive new business development within key service lines: FTL, LTL, bulk transport, heavy haul, open-deck, drop trailer, temperature-controlled, and managed transportation.
  • Onboard and manage client accounts, delivering consultative logistics solutions that align with customer needs.
  • Act as a logistics solutions advocate, educating prospects on Scout Freights service capabilitiesfrom precision load matching to performance analytics.
  • Leverage realtime visibility tools and reliable carrier relationships to address disruptions, ensure on-time delivery, and exceed customer expectations.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, including operations and carriers, to align sales efforts with delivery capabilities and supply chain execution.
  • Analyze and report on key performance indicatorsloading accuracy, transit times, customer satisfactionto continuously optimize sales strategy.
  • Nurture long-term partnerships, building trust through consistency, integrity, and a deep commitment to client success.
  • Stay agile and adaptable, embracing challenges as Scout Freight scales and innovates across services.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate or Bachelors degree preferred in Marketing, Communications, Logistics, or related field.
  • Experience: 25+ years in logistics, broker sales, or account management, with familiarity in specialized freight services preferred.
