POSITION DUTIES
A Correctional Case Management Supervisor is the supervisory level of work in assessing and evaluating the personal and criminal history of adult inmates to recommend a security level and in developing and monitoring appropriate work and educational programs. Employees in this classification supervise lower-level Correctional Case Management Specialists.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Directly supervise a group of Reentry Specialists to ensure that work is completed thoroughly, accurately, and in a timely manner consistent with established agency policies and procedures.\r\n Provide daily oversight, coaching and performance feedback to Reentry and Transitional Specialists.\r\n Conduct regular Case Reviews and Site Visits, to ensure quality of Reentry Services.\r\n Offer Guidance for complex cases and crisis intervention.\r\n Ensure program activities align with agency mission, state/federal requirements, and evidence-based practices.\r\n Monitor data entry, documentation and outcome reporting of the Reentry and Transitional Specialists.\r\n Oversee compliance, with confidentiality, ethical standards and operational procedures.\r\n Develop and facitiate onboarding, as well as training for new staff.\r\n Provide ongoing professional development and skill-building opportunities.\r\n Identify staff training needs and coordinate external learning opportunities.\r\n Act as a liaison between Correctional Facilities, Parole and Probation service providers, as well as partners.\r\n Represent the Reentry Program at meetings, coalitions and public forums.\r\n Foster partnerships that expand service access for returning citizens.\r\n Support implementation of innovative reentry practice tools.\r\n Prepare reports and other requested documents, as needed.\r\n Perform all other related duties, as assigned.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. \r\nExperience: Four years of experience assessing inmates' security risk and inmates' program needs for the purpose of determining correct security classifications and developing program plans. \r\nNotes:\r\n1. The above educational requirement is set by the Maryland Correctional Training Commission in accordance with Title 12, Subtitle 10 of the Code of Maryland Regulations. \r\n2. Candidates may substitute one year of experience as a Correctional Officer for one year of the required experience. \r\n3. Candidates may substitute one year of experience as a Correctional Dietary Officer, Correctional Maintenance Officer or Correctional Supply Officer for one year of the required experience.\r\n4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in correctional classifications or correctional specialty codes in the criminal justice field of work at the rate of two years of military experience for one year of the required experience.\r\n
SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS
\r\n\r\n \r\n Prior experience recommending changes to\r\n institutional policies and procedures, concerning reentry issues.\r\n Prior experience in developing comprehensive home\r\n plans for individuals' return to the community.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
\r\n Experience conducting regular case reviews and\r\n site visits to ensure quality of Reentry Services.\r\n Experience ensuring program activities align\r\n with agency mission, state/federal requirements and evidence-based practices\r\n\r\n\r\n

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland. \r\n
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Employees who have not already done so must meet the required selection standards and successfully complete the training prescribed by the Maryland Correctional Training Commission for a Correctional Classification Counselor. Selection standards for correctional training are listed in detail in the Code of Maryland Regulations 12.10.01.04 and include the following: \r\nU.S. Citizenship or Resident Alien status \r\nMust be at least 21 years of age \r\nA completed background investigation \r\nOral interview \r\nPhysical examination. \r\n2. Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations 17.04.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs. \r\n
