Job description

This role requires a full-time onsite presence in Durham, NC. While occasional remote work flexibility may be available, candidates should expect to work onsite the majority of the time and be actively engaged with local teams and leadership.

Target Base Range for this role is $65k-$80k, dependent upon experience.

Job Summary: We’re seeking a Design Project Manager to lead the execution of EV charging station design projects. This role is focused on managing 20–30 active design projects at a time, driving them from Diligence handoff through the Design process for initial AHJ submission, and ensuring alignment with IONNA’s brand, product intent, and technical standards.

This is a hands-on, in office role that requires strong project ownership, vendor coordination, and attention to detail. While the role is primarily focused on execution, there may be opportunities to influence design standards and team growth over time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Kick off and manage external design vendors across site, architectural, and low-voltage and other scopes of work
  • Ensure design outputs align with guidance set by the IONNA product team, brand standards, and properly address existing site conditions
  • Review and redline construction documents (CDs) for accuracy and completeness
  • Drive vendors to collaborate effectively
  • Participate in pre-application meetings when required
  • Drive projects toward first AHJ submission and handoff to the Site Development team
  • Maintain organized project files and enforce documentation standards

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Project Throughput: Number of sites successfully completed in preparation for first AHJ submittals
  • CD review turnaround time: Average elapsed time from A&E submission to review complete for each CD package.
  • Submission Completeness: Number of complete submissions divided by number of total submissions measured monthl

Education & Experience Qualifications

  • Background in architectural design or related disciplines
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in EV charging infrastructure site design, Telecom or general development design
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Confluence, and PM tools
  • Experience reviewing/redlining drawings and producing quick sketches or layouts
  • Excellent documentation and file management skills
  • Process-driven, proactive, and detail-oriented
  • Experience coordinating across multiple vendors and scopes
