Red Dot Corporation, the leading producer of premium mobile HVAC units and components for heavy-duty commercial and military vehicles, is recruiting for the following position:

Production Operative - Day Shift - Final Assembly (Detail/Sub Assembly)

Puyallup, WA

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Shift: Days, Monday - Thursday 10 hour shifts, 6:30 AM to 5:15 PM

Compensation: $20.50 per hour

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision and direction of the Area Team Leader, have the ability to work in assigned work centers/area. The work centers can vary from: CORE, Laser/Turret, Powder Coat, Tube Fab, Plastics, Assembly, etc.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assemble, install, and integrate components and subassemblies according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform final assembly tasks such as mechanical fastening, wire preparation and routing, component alignment, and final product detailing.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment safely and effectively to complete assigned tasks.
  • Inspect assembled products to ensure workmanship, functionality, and conformance to quality standards.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and production requirements while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding work status, quality issues, or process concerns.
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work at a fast paced environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform final assembly operations, including component installation, wire preparation, mechanical fastening, and final product detailing.
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs), blueprints, work instructions, and method sheets to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Operate tools, machinery, and related equipment safely and correctly.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, participating in daily 5S and housekeeping activities.
  • Follow all safety, security, and environmental procedures. Report safety concerns promptly to the supervisor or lead.
  • Work at a consistent pace to meet production schedules and quality standards.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding work progress, issues, or changes.
  • Participate in cross-training as required and assist in other areas of production as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and SOPs.
  • Familiarity with quality control standards and visual/mechanical inspection techniques.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Basic computer and data entry skills for tracking production activities.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Good communication skills for reporting issues and following directions.
  • Dependability and consistent attendance required.
  • Commitment to safety, product quality, and continuous improvement.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand for at least ten hours a day
  • Visually or otherwise identify, observe and assess distance, color and depth; Required to regularly communicate with others and exchange accurate information.
  • Frequently move up to 25 pounds and occasionally move up to 50 pounds. He/she must be able to work within different temperature changes, indoors to outdoors; moving between buildings, inventory racks and working around moving equipment/machines; occasionally ascend/descend stairs as required.
  • Ability to follow safety rules

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Prior manufacturing or production experience preferred.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents and follow instructions accurately.
  • Experience with departmental equipment or processes is a plus.
