Job description


We offer a competitive salary for this role, with an expected range of $140,000-$180,000. The final offer will depend on your experience, skills, and overall qualifications. General Dynamics - Bath Iron Works also provides a variety of benefits including medical & dental insurance coverage, 401(k) retirement savings plan, flexible spending accounts/HSAs, life and disability insurance, company paid holidays, paid time off (PTO), health coaching, athletic trainers, employee assistance programs and onsite health services.
As the Lead Provider, NP, you will assist in the daily operations of the occupational health clinic at Bath Iron Works. Operating under the BIW Business Operating System (BOS), the Lead Provider, NP ensures compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards while coordinating with other key stakeholders to meet overall milestones.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Leadership:
  • Diagnose, treat and medically manage work-related injuries and illnesses for Bath Iron Works employees.

Project Execution:
  • Perform routine medical surveillance, physical examination, and case review for a variety of programs, i.e., exposures from asbestos, heavy metals, various environmental toxins, and noise; DOT; Fire Brigade and other programs.

Clinical Management:
  • Supervision of Nurse Practitioners.
  • Provide day-to-day clinical guidance and support to other NPs.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately based on skill, scope of practice, and workload.
  • Ensure adequate staffing and coverage; assist with scheduling or shift planning.
  • Work with Clinical Supervisor monitoring patient flow and triage efficiency.

Required/Preferred Education/Training
  • Licensed as a register professional nurse practitioner required.
  • Masters Degree in Nursing required.
  • Current State of Maine APN license required.

Required/Preferred Experience
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a nurse practitioner in either family or adult practice required.
  • Previous managerial experience required.
  • Occupational health experience is highly desirable.
  • Must be able to maneuver through the Shipyard.
  • Must be able to participate in Sea Trials.
  • Preference is a standard 1st shift five-day work week, we are open to evaluating a 4 by 10 schedule for the right candidate.
