EHS Intern
JOB SUMMARY
The EHS Intern will support the Environmental, Health, and Safety team in promoting a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace. This position provides hands-on experience in workplace safety, environmental compliance, training coordination, incident investigation, and continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment. The intern will assist with daily EHS activities while gaining exposure to regulatory compliance, safety systems, and employee engagement programs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist with coordinating environmental, health, and safety activities through effective communication and teamwork.
  • Support the development and delivery of EHS training programs for team members.Participate in new hire orientation and assist with environmental health and safety training.
  • Assist in investigating work-related injuries and illnesses and help compile statistical data and reports.
  • Support the implementation of safety countermeasures and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with Federal, State, and local environmental and safety regulations.
  • Participate in Safety Team meetings and assist with tracking action items and recommendations.
  • Conduct routine safety observation tours and document findings for follow-up.
  • Support emergency evacuation planning, drills, and preparedness activities.
  • Assist with chemical awareness training and chemical inventory monitoring.
  • Support environmental reporting activities related to land, air, water, and hazardous waste compliance.
  • Assist with pollution prevention and recycling initiatives throughout the facility.
  • Help coordinate hazardous waste handling and recycling programs.
  • Assist with ISO 14001 documentation and environmental management system activities.Maintain EHS records, files, and training documentation.Perform other duties as assignedEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous internship, coursework, or exposure to manufacturing or safety-related environments is a plus.
  • Automotive manufacturing interest or experience preferred but not required.
  • TRAVEL: Minimal travel required.
