About Braven

Braven is a national nonprofit that prepares promising college students to secure a strong first opportunity after college graduation through a career-accelerating program.

Together, our ambition is to help rebuild the middle class and revitalize the American Dream.

To learn more, take a look at Braven's Jobs Report.

About the Role

In order to achieve its ambition of serving 80,000-100,000 Fellows over the next decade, Braven is hiring an Associate, Fellow Recruitment & Enrollment (National) who will serve as high-energy, on-the-ground recruitment support across Braven's 13+ higher education partner sites. As members of the Higher Education Partnerships team, you will deploy where enrollment needs are greatest, supporting recruitment campaigns, supporting blitzes, and driving Fellow enrollment toward site goals across the country, in close partnership with the Senior Director, Higher Education Partnerships, and the Associate Director, Fellow Recruitment and Campus Engagement.

This role is on the Higher Education Partnerships team and reports directly to the Senior Director, Higher Education Partnerships.

What You'll Do

National Recruitment Support & Deployment (45%)

  • Travel to partner sites to support in-person recruitment initiatives, high-intensity outreach campaigns ("blitzes"), and enrollment efforts across Braven's 13+ higher education partner sites.
  • Conduct student outreach tabling, phone banking, classroom visits, and one-on-one follow-up to drive Fellow enrollment toward site goals
  • Support regional Recruitment Associates by providing surge capacity during high-demand enrollment moments
  • Adapt quickly to different campus cultures and enrollment contexts across sites
  • Maintain and develop training materials and resources to support consistent, effective outreach and enrollment practices across all partner sites

Systems, Tools & Tracking (30%)

  • Participate in the weekly One Program Pre-Accelerator huddle to track campaign progress and coordinate across the national team
  • Document lessons learned from deployment to inform national strategy and playbook development
  • Maintain fluency in Salesforce to accurately track recruitment activity, update Fellow records, and support data-informed decision-making across the national team

Campus & Partner Engagement (25%)

  • Build strong working relationships with campus contacts, faculty, student affairs staff, and peer leaders during site deployments
  • Represent Braven authentically to prospective Fellows, communicating the value of the program with clarity and enthusiasm
  • Support org-wide volunteer events as needed (e.g., Mock-Interview Night).
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Minimum Requirements
  • BS/BA or relevant experience
  • 1-3 years of professional experience in recruitment, sales, student affairs, community organizing, or a related people-facing field

Preferred Qualifications

  • You're a Braven Post-Accelerator Fellow at one of our Higher Education Partner Institutions or BravenX
  • You have experience in student recruitment, enrollment, outreach, or sales, and you know how to move people toward a decision
  • Develop and execute targeted communication plans (email, text, social) to drive awareness and engagement with prospective Fellows across partner sites
  • You are energized by being on the ground and do your best work when you're in the room, not just coordinating from a distance
  • You adapt quickly, you can walk into a new campus environment, read the room, and adjust your approach without a lot of hand-holding
  • You take ownership: when something is yours, you follow through without being asked twice
  • You are detail-oriented, you keep your tracking clean, your data accurate, and your follow-up tight
  • You are solutions-oriented when challenges arise and keep focus on outcomes
  • You build trust quickly with a wide range of people, students, campus staff, and teammates
  • You communicate clearly and authentically, in writing and in person
  • You exemplify Braven's core values
  • Your experiences have informed your belief in Braven's mission and have prepared you to work with or for Braven's student Fellow population

Please know that no one ever meets 100% of the preferred qualifications. If much of this describes you, we encourage you to apply.

Work Demands

  • Ability to work in person in Chicago (IL), Atlanta (GA), Newark (NJ), and  New York (NY) 3 days per week
  • Ability to travel 30-40% of the time (approximately 12-18 trips per year) for several days at a time to Braven partner sites across the country
  • Have a valid driver's license and be able to travel regularly to partner sites.
  • Ability to transport and lift recruitment and event materials weighing up to 50 pounds as needed for on-site events and enrollment activities.
  • Ability to work after hours ~5-7 nights per semester to support org-wide volunteer events (Mock-Interview Night, etc.), recruitment blitzes, or other campus engagement events
