Job description

A Snapshot of Your Day
  • The Substation (SU) EPC Large Project Program Manager will manage substation projects as the primary responsible point of contact with our regional customers. The successful candidate will work closely with sales, engineering, finance, procurement, and construction teams to develop strong partnerships and ensure projects are executed in accordance with the business strategy.

How You'll Make an Impact
  • Provide oversight and be accountable for Substation (SU) project portfolio up to EPC siteworks, major equipment delivery and commissioning, Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS), Transformers, Breakers, and Air Insulated Switchgear (AIS)
  • Provide support and collaboration during the preconstruction, estimating, and proposal development process for new and existing business opportunities
  • Oversee the whole project management process for SU EPC portfolio, from approving project deliverables to initiating project reviews and ensure risks are continuously assessed and mitigated. Also including scheduling, budget, risk, change, opportunity, forecast and reoccurring reporting to management, plus contract review and coordination with legal department and executive management
  • Track business performance and project progress and be responsible for profit and losses of the projects. Oversee the creation and sharing of project specific lessons learned and eliminating/reducing project Non-Conformance Cost's, identify potential conflicts or issues and facilitate solutions to meet client's needs
  • Lead the professional development of a project management team, to include technical expertise, customer relationship, negotiation, coaching & mentoring, and project outcomes. Recruit, train, and manage the team to ensure business needs are met
  • Build strong relationships with other Operational Leaders of the USA Substations group and foster effective teamwork between leadership and staff
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders including the client, vendors, and subcontractors, and working internally with cross-functional teams to plan project deliverables, resources, budget, and schedule

What You Bring
  • Minimum of bachelor's degree Engineering, Business, or Construction Management
  • Master's degree in engineering, or business preferred
  • Project Management Certification preferred (PMI, IPMA)
  • Experience managing a high-performing team of 8-10 project managers
  • At least 10+ years in Project Management with 5 years in Transmission business. 5+ years of prior experience serving as Project Manager, Design Manager, Director of Estimating, or Project Director of construction teams, where responsibilities include construction, engineering, estimating, contracts management, and client relations.
  • Experience managing EPC project valuing at $50M or more, including ownership of operations, project administration, client relations and all other scopes relative to large construction projects
  • Ensure safety and quality are prioritized throughout the business
  • Ability to travel as business requires
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfer
