About the Opportunity
A highly respected Am Law 200 law firm is seeking a Lateral Recruiting Manager to join its Talent team based in San Francisco. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced legal recruiting professional to lead attorney recruitment efforts across the firm, partnering closely with practice group leaders and firm leadership to attract top legal talent.
The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and executing lateral recruiting strategies, enhancing the candidate experience, and supporting the firm's continued growth.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of lateral attorney recruitment, including sourcing, interviewing, offer management and onboarding.
- Partner with Practice Group Leaders and firm leadership to identify hiring needs and develop recruitment strategies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with search firms and external recruiting partners.
- Manage candidate pipelines and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
- Coordinate attorney interview processes, candidate evaluations and offer negotiations.
- Lead onboarding and integration initiatives to support successful attorney transitions.
- Provide market intelligence, compensation benchmarking and competitor insights to hiring managers.
- Track recruitment metrics and provide reporting to leadership.
- Support employer branding and attorney recruitment marketing initiatives.
- Partner with HR, Professional Development and Practice Management teams to ensure a seamless recruitment process.
Requirements
- 5+ years of attorney recruiting experience within a law firm environment.
- Strong experience managing lateral associate and/or partner recruitment processes.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to influence at senior levels.
- Knowledge of the legal recruiting market in California and nationally.
- Experience working with recruitment systems and applicant tracking platforms.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple searches simultaneously.
- Professional, collaborative and service-oriented approach.
Preferred Background
- Previous experience within an Am Law 100/200 or nationally recognised law firm.
- Experience supporting corporate, litigation, labour & employment, real estate or other full-service law firm practice groups.
- Knowledge of legal market trends and attorney compensation structures.
