Job description

Park Nursing Home is seeking Recreational Aides to assist with the planning of recreational activities, following the supervision of a Recreational Director. Recreation aides prepare all the resources, guide the participants, maintain the activity equipment, facilitate the program, and reiterate the guidelines for the safe execution of the activity.

Job Description

  • Assist in implement activities and programs for residents
  • Work with the residents on the units
  • Organize and obtain supplies and equipment as requested
  • Assist recreation specialists & set up the program areas as needed
  • Keep daily attendance and document residents’ participation in activities
  • Assist residents to program location and return residents to appropriate units
  • Collaborate with the Recreation Director to create/modify the recreation calendar and coordinate with outside parties to implement recreational activities.
  • Be familiar with established emergency procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Experience with activities in healthcare settings or college work in recreation therapy preffered
  • Previous experience with Geriatric population preferred
  • Proficient computer skills necessary
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member
  • Strong organizational & planning skills; ability to multitask
  • smoking supervision
