Job Summary
The Recovery Coach facilitates individual coaching sessions, support groups, and organizes social activities and workshops for members of Foundation for Recovery's Clubhouse. In this role, you will be trained to facilitate several types of support groups for members of our program. Through these support meetings, you will used your lived experience and training to support members in identifying and developing plans to meet their whole health and recovery goals and advocate for their success. You will provide individualized coaching to members of the program, offering support, warm linkages to other services in our community, offer encouragement, motivation, education, and hospitality. The Recovery Coaches work alongside other members of our Recovery  Service team to run the daily operations of the Clubhouse, conduct outreach and raise awareness of our programs in the community, provide support to our members and patrons of the Clubhouse, supervise and lead daily activities and programming, and provide general clerical support. This includes answering phones, checking-in members, giving directions, making coffee and preparing meals. This position requires completion of a Peer Recovery Support Specialist training, approved by the Nevada Certification Board. Applicants must hold a PRSS-I or CPRSS credential through the Nevada Certification Board. The ideal candidate will be familiar with Recovery Community Organizations, Recovery Cafe, and Clubhouse International models and how they differ from clinical treatment.
The Foundation for Recovery serves as Nevada’s statewide recovery community organization (RCO); the largest peer-run nonprofit advocating for and supporting people and families impacted by addiction and overdose in Nevada. We were founded in the early 2000s by a dedicated group of people and family members in recovery who saw an urgent need to address critical gaps in support and empower a constituency of people recovering from addiction to advocate for change by putting a face and voice on this movement. Our Founders envisioned a place where people in new and long-term recovery could congregate, find unwavering allyship in each other, and access a loving community focused on helping individuals sustain recovery beyond treatment and incarceration. The Clubhouse is the manifestation of this vision. The first of its kind in Nevada, the Clubhouse brings together comprehensive community-based services and supports, including respite and housing, that move beyond treatment and symptom reduction to account for all of a person’s holistic needs to sustain recovery after clinical interventions. We call this "recovery sustainment services". The Clubhouse is an intentional community where members and staff work together, side-by-side, to carry out all daily operations. Members are given access to individualized peer-based support, employment training and placement, relationship building, education, housing, and daily meals. The Clubhouse is a social space for the local recovery community where the individuals we serve are members, not clients.
Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Ability to work a 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. weekly evening schedule and 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays.
• Education: Minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Education: Completion of a Peer Support Specialist Training approved by the Nevada Certification Board
• 2 years of prior experience with standard office practices and procedures, including office etiquette, records management and use of case management or electronic health record system, and using computer programs such as Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
• 2 years of customer service experience
• 2 years of experience working with people with behavioral health disorders and individuals from various socio-economic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds
• 1-2 years of experience using electronic health records or case management database
• Must understand and adhere to the Nevada Certification Board's code of ethics for Peer Recovery Support Specialists, federal and state confidentiality laws and regulations, and Nevada mandatory reporting laws and regulations
• Must exhibit a high level of integrity and business ethics. Knowledge of and adherence to Nevada and federal laws, including confidentiality law (42 CRF et seq), The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and Drug-Free Workplace Policies.
• Must have a current, valid driver’s license, as well as current, personal vehicle insurance.
• Must provide proof of identification and eligibility to work in the United States of America.
• Prior experience and proficiency using Google Workspace products (Gmail, Drive, Google Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, etc.)
• Access to reliable transportation for assigned work shifts and duties
• Must be familiar with peer recovery support models, harm reduction principles and practices, and multiple-pathways of recovery.

Preferred Qualifications

• Spanish Speaking Skills Preferred
• Certified as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist by the Nevada Certification Board
• 1-2 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Continuing education or training in harm reduction, trauma-informed care, peer support ethics, confidentiality, motivational interviewing, suicide prevention, mandatory reporting, or others.
• Prior experience facilitating support groups, group activities, trainings, and/or workshops.
• Prior experience working in an office-based setting, non-profit, or community-based organization.
• Prior experience working with state and federal grants.

Essential Functions

• Manage incoming requests and inbound referrals to the Clubhouse, including calls, emails, pre-enrollment submissions, and walk-ins.
• Completes various assessments, surveys, interviews, and other data collection methods to track outcomes of members for grantors, management, and community partners.
• Educate participants about membership to the Clubhouse and the programs available to members, other treatment and recovery options, harm reduction tools and strategies, and local resources.
• Manages front desk and flow of members between workers
• Data entry and recording in case management system
• Coordinate ancillary services for members such as: transportation assistance, vocational training, stable and secure living environments, and other recovery support services, as identified by members
• Be the key to health activation by listening to the needs, fears, and goals of our members and educating members on how to access and engage in the health system
• Facilitate whole health and recovery support groups, maintaining fidelity of the curriculum and program
• Support members with identifying whole health and recovery goals and developing plans to achieve those goals
• Support members with the planning of their recovery program, and provide motivation to assist members with completion of the program
• Provide individualized support, empowerment, and encouragement to members through coaching and everyday interactions
• Offer recovery management strategies and tools; like journaling, breathing and mindfulness techniques, among others
• Offer harm reduction strategies and tools; like Narcan, drug testing, and safer use strategies
• Listen to members' barriers; offering assistance to remove barriers through linkages to resources and other programs at Foundation for Recovery - or just to listen and provide understanding and empathy
• Share and model personal resilience and recovery experiences, when appropriate, acting as a role model for members
• Provide regular communication to members through phone, text, and in-person follow-ups and check-ins
• Maintain clear and concise documentation using the organization's case management software
• Complete all necessary data collection, reporting, and documentation related to the program requirements
• Prepare program, grant, and caseload reports as needed
• Understand and adhere to all state and federal confidentiality laws and regulations
• Ability to become certified as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist upon hire through Nevada Certification Board
• Other duties as assigned

Work Environment
Our employees work in a supportive and collaborative office environment. This position is full-time and based in Las Vegas at Foundation for Recovery’s recovery community center. Foundation for Recovery will provide all the tools necessary to perform the duties of the position.
Physical Demands
Sedentary work. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
Job Details and Salary

• Full-time hourly, non-exempt employee
• Fringe benefits, including health, vision, and dental insurance available after 90 days of employment.
• Salary Range: $18 - $21 per hour commensurate with experience
• PTO/Vacation Package including ten (10) accrued hours per month + three (3) company paid sick days annually
