Job description

  • Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are readily available
  • Obtain and document patient vital signs, medical histories, and current medications accurately in electronic health records
  • Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures
  • Perform clinical procedures including venipuncture, EKG administration, specimen collection, and injections as directed
  • Process and prepare laboratory specimens for testing and maintain quality control standards
  • Manage patient flow efficiently to optimize provider schedules and minimize wait times
  • Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care instructions
  • Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards
  • Sterilize medical instruments and maintain infection control protocols
  • Coordinate patient referrals and communicate with external healthcare facilities
  • Handle administrative duties including scheduling, phone triage, and medical record management

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting
  • Phlebotomy proficient
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) strongly preferred
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems
