Job description:

The LIttle Sisters of the Poor is liicesned for 73 Residents. Currently we are at 39 and growing. We are looking for a candidate that can start Part time or Full Time. preferable start Part time and move to full time.

The Medical Records Secretary (HUC) is responsible for managing the medical records of all residents, scheduling medical appointments for residents consistently demonstrating the Little Sisters of the Poor core value of stewardship in the conscientious use of time, equipment, and supplies. The Medical Records Secretary is also responsible for carrying out other assigned tasks which may include clerical work and providing support services to the Nursing department of the Home.

Essential Functions:

1. Transcribe New Admission orders into PCC

2. Enter resident information in Point Click Care (PCC) as needed.

3. Scan/file documentation and reports for residents quickly and accurately.

4. Maintain physician visit list and ensure the visits are communicated.

5. Ensure that laboratory and radiology orders are completed and reconciled.

6. Follow up to ensure that doctorโ€™s orders that are communicated verbally are signed.

7. Safeguard resident records complying with HIPAA standards.

8. Maintain confidentiality of all resident, departmental, and organizational information.

9. Process records for admitting and discharging residents.

10. Schedule medical appointments for residents.

11. Perform any other duties necessary to fulfill the primary duties and responsibilities of the position, as well as those assigned by the supervisor.

12. Must be able to pass a Background check including Drug testing, TB testing and Criminal Background.

Requirements and Qualifications

1. Must be a high school graduate, preferably with a strong educational background or work history that includes at least two (2) years of experience in Medical Records in a nursing home or assisted living environment.

2. Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license preferred.

3. Must be able to read, write and speak English and possess good telephone skills.

4. Must be able to understand, communicate and deliver messages accurately, and to communicate effectively with all departments and with outside entities.

5. Must have the ability and commitment to carry out the duties of the position with the highest level of integrity, functioning independently as needed, but always according to expected job performance standards, willingly accepting guidance and directions while also using appropriate initiative in performing duties/tasks with minimum supervision.

10. Must consistently demonstrate the Little Sistersโ€™ core value of stewardship in the conscientious use of time, equipment, and supplies.

11. Ability to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

12. Written and Oral Communication Proficiency in English.
