Position Summary Under the general direction of the Team Leader II, is responsible for assistance in the operation of the Water Reclamation Treatment Plant. Duties include assisting in the proper operation of the plant. Responsibilities include assistance in the collection, treatment and disposal of water reclamation that meets quality standards at the Federal and State regulatory agencies and the Utilities Division.
Work is reviewed through observation and verbal or written reports for adherence to established policies and procedures. Examples of Essential Functions Performs chemical tests and laboratory analysis of water reclamation to ensure quality; also performs lab equipment calibration and the mixing and feeding of treatment chemicals. Maintains industrial equipment; charts, meters and physical plant security.
Operates emergency power generators, electrical switchgears, and various industrial equipments. Prepares reports and logs regarding the quality of water reclamation for regulatory agencies and city records; records equipment malfunctions. Responds to questions from the public; handles citizens' complaints; calls emergency personnel as needed.
Performs general housekeeping duties and yard work as required. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED; supplemented by three (3) years experience in a related field or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Must complete technical course work to obtain a State of Florida Department of Professional Regulation Wastewater "C" Treatment Plant Operator License within 12 months. Must obtain a State of Florida Department of Professional Regulation Wastewater "C" Treatment Plant Operator License within 15 months.
Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License.
