About the Role:

The Medical Receptionist/Patient Registrar at Retina & Vitreous of Louisiana plays a critical role in ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for patients from the moment they enter the facility. This position is responsible for managing patient check-ins, verifying insurance information, and accurately entering patient data into electronic health records. The role requires effective communication with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to facilitate appointments and resolve any administrative issues. By maintaining organized and up-to-date patient records, the Medical Receptionist/Patient Registrar supports the clinical team in delivering timely and efficient care. Ultimately, this position contributes to the overall patient satisfaction and operational efficiency of the practice.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting, preferably in patient registration or front desk operations.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard office software.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Medical Administrative Assistant or similar credential.
