Description
Job Title: Receptionist
Job Purpose:
To serve members and guests in a professional, friendly manner while following outlined club procedures and policies by providing genuine hospitality.
Operational
  • Work all scheduled shifts, with flexibility to cover additional shifts as needed.
  • Report to work on time for all scheduled shifts.
  • Regularly attend staff meetings.
  • Wear the full uniform (black pants, black Club Fit jacket, sneakers, and name tag) during all scheduled shifts.
  • Maintain the reception desk in a clean and orderly manner.
Communication
  • Maintain a professional and friendly phone manner.
  • Interact with members in a courteous and respectful manner.
  • Direct member inquiries and concerns to the appropriate manager.
  • Check email regularly for department updates and communications.
  • Partner with the Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed.
Service
  • Greet everyone who enters the club.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail by using members' names when checking them in.
  • Answer all incoming phone calls professionally and route calls appropriately.
Job Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to understand and communicate both verbally and in writing in English.
  • Ability to follow directions.
  • Ability to think independently and suggest effective solutions to potential challenges.
Professional and Technical Knowledge
Ongoing Club Fit Training through the 1Huddle Learning Management System:
  • Bloodborne Pathogens (annually)
  • Emergency Response Protocol (ERP) (bi-annually)
  • Sexual Harassment Prevention (annually)
  • Cyber Security (annually)

Technical Knowledge:
  • Understand and utilize the multi-line phone and paging system.
  • Understand and execute all Club Automation and mobile app procedures.
  • Assist with guest registration.
  • Understand and execute point-of-sale (POS) procedures.
Contributes to Team Effort
  • Divide workload and cover breaks equally with co-workers.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with management.
Reporting Structure
  • Direct line to the Reception Manager.
