Weekend Receptionist

The Weekend Receptionist provides Front Desk/reception coverage during the School's weekend programming, welcoming families and visitors and supporting the day-to-day logistics of weekend programs.

Responsibilities associated with this role may fluctuate based on the operational needs of the School, and specific duties may shift over time as directed by the Head of Finance and Operations to meet those needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Front Desk/reception coverage during scheduled weekend programming, in 2โ€“4 hour shifts as needed.
  • Welcome and assist students, families, staff, visitors, and vendors entering the school.
  • Support check-in and check-out for weekend program participants.
  • Respond to routine family questions and direct more complex concerns to the appropriate staff member or administrator.
  • Support general Front Desk operations, including answering phones and receiving messages.

Weekend Program Support

  • Support the day-to-day logistics of weekend programming, including sign-in sheets, room assignments, and schedule updates.
  • Communicate with weekend program staff and instructors regarding attendance, room assignments, and schedule changes.
  • Escalate significant student, family, staffing, or program concerns to school leadership.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with weekend program instructors and the Business & Operations Office.
  • Maintain clear, warm, and professional communication with families.
  • Help ensure information is shared consistently between weekend program staff and school administration.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children, families, or in a school, childcare, or customer-facing environment preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfort communicating directly with parents and caregivers.
  • Ability to work independently during weekend shifts with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and professionally with children, families, faculty, staff, and visitors.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to identify and appropriately escalate student, family, staffing, or safety concerns.
