Robert Half is looking for a Continuous Improvement Engineer for a manufacturing company in Janesville, WI. This newly created role is meant to help strengthen manufacturing performance for the company. This position focuses on using operational data, engineering methods, and Lean practices to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and support reliable production in a food manufacturing setting. The role partners with plant teams to identify improvement opportunities, measure results, and advance initiatives tied to safety, quality, delivery, sanitation, and cost performance.


Responsibilities:

• Examine production data and operational trends to uncover improvement opportunities and support informed decision-making across the plant.

• Lead initiatives that streamline workflows, raise labor productivity, and improve overall manufacturing efficiency within a food production environment.

• Create and maintain key performance indicators that track results related to output, quality, safety, sanitation, and cost.

• Apply Lean and industrial engineering techniques to remove non-value-added activity and strengthen process consistency.

• Partner with production, quality, and operations teams to implement practical changes that improve equipment utilization and workforce effectiveness.

• Evaluate current manufacturing methods and recommend process adjustments that increase throughput while maintaining compliance standards.

• Support plant-wide improvement projects from planning through execution, including analysis of outcomes and sustainability of results.

• Identify cost-reduction opportunities by analyzing process performance, resource usage, and operational losses.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in continuous improvement, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related role.

• Background in a manufacturing environment, preferably within food production or other regulated operations.

• Bachelor's Degree in Food science, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline. Would hire new grad candidate with right degree/background.

• Strong ability to analyze data, develop queries, and translate findings into measurable process improvements.

• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and process optimization methodologies.

• Experience building KPI reports and using performance metrics to guide operational decisions.

• Demonstrated success leading process improvement projects that deliver efficiency gains or cost savings.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate recommendations clearly.

• Understanding of labor efficiency, workflow design, and production performance analysis.
