Job description

MARS Solutions Group is looking for an experienced Accounting Analyst located in Milwaukee, WI. Our client is a provider for electricity, natural gas, and steam heat industry Leader looking for high-quality talent to make a difference. Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Analyst to support financial reporting, account reconciliation, and regulatory compliance for a large utility organization. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate has a solid accounting foundation, strong analytical abilities, experience working with accounting systems, and advanced spreadsheet skills.

Responsibilities

Prepare, maintain, and reconcile accounting records and financial transactions.

Compile, calculate, balance, and analyze financial data for reporting purposes.

Prepare internal and external financial reports.

Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.

Research and resolve accounting issues while coordinating with internal stakeholders.

Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities.

Assist with regulatory reporting and compliance requirements.

Maintain accurate financial documentation and records.

Support accounting system processes and continuous improvement initiatives.

Respond to inquiries regarding financial reporting and accounting transactions.

Handle confidential financial and employee information with professionalism.

Required Qualifications

One of the following:

Minimum one year of post-secondary education, including at least two accounting courses, plus two years of recent accounting experience; OR

Two years of post-secondary education, including at least four accounting courses completed within the past five years.

Experience with general accounting functions.

Strong Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet skills.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Strong organizational and communication skills.

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with SAP or other enterprise accounting software.

Knowledge of financial reporting processes.

Experience with account reconciliations and financial analysis.

Previous experience in a regulated industry or large corporate accounting environment.

Familiarity with regulatory financial reporting is a plus.
