Job description

Job Summary:
The Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) is seeking an experienced data analytics and science professional to lead their enterprise dashboarding and data visualization initiatives. The Data Scientist Supervisor will oversee the Dashboard Operations Team, enhance data visualization, and ensure the delivery of high-quality visualization products across the agency.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Serving as the organizationโ€™s data visualization subject matter expert (SME).
โ€ข Overseeing the development of interactive Medicaid dashboards that support program operations, policy monitoring, and transparency for constituents.
โ€ข Creating an agile dashboard development framework, overseeing Tableau cloud migration initiatives, and providing analytics governance recommendations.
โ€ข Collaborating with the Business Intelligence Team to develop WCAG 2.1 AA+ compliant public-facing dashboards, including the creation of enhanced desk aides and best-in-class tutorials.
โ€ข Integrating advanced Graphic Information System (GIS), geospatial methodologies, and statistical techniques into dashboards to deliver timely, data-driven insights.
โ€ข Coordinating with contractors and vendors to scale dashboard production, improve user experience, and implement intuitive design and functionality.
โ€ข Providing supervision, coaching, and professional development to staff, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข 72 mos. exp. or trg. in data analytics, statistical analysis, or research methods; 12 mos. exp. in supervisory &/or management principles & techniques.
โ€ข Or completion of associate core program in data analytics, computer science, information systems, computer engineering, applied mathematics, statistics, industrial/systems engineering, or related field; 54 mos. exp. or trg. in data analytics, statistical analysis, or research methods; 12 mos. exp. in supervisory &/or management principles & techniques.
โ€ข Or completion of undergraduate core program in data analytics, computer science, information systems, computer engineering, applied mathematics, statistics, industrial/systems engineering, or related field; 48 mos. exp. in data analytics, statistical analysis, or research methods. 12 mos. exp. in supervisory &/or management principles & techniques.
โ€ข Completion of graduate core program in data analytics, computer science, information systems, computer engineering, applied mathematics, statistics, industrial/systems engineering, or related field; 36 mos. exp. or trg. in data analytics, statistical analysis, or research methods; 12 mos. exp. in supervisory &/or management principles & techniques.
โ€ข Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
