Job description

A Day in the Life:

The Fleet Accounts Receivable Supervisor oversees daily operations of the Accounts Receivable team, ensuring efficient workflows, strong performance, and high-quality customer service while monitoring productivity, providing coaching, and guiding staff through complex issues and escalations. This role ensures the timely and accurate processing of vehicle invoices and payments, maintaining proper flow into the General Ledger and compliance with Hertz policies, procedures, and SOX controls, while also overseeing third-party business partners to ensure performance expectations and transaction accuracy are met. In addition, the supervisor drives continuous improvement by leading small projects, serving as a subject matter expert on larger initiatives, and acting as a change agent to support process enhancements and evolving business needs, with flexibility to assist receivables activities across multiple regions as required.

We expect the starting salary to be around $55,000, with final compensation determined based on years of relevant work experience.

What You'll Do:

  • Directly supervise Fleet Accounts Receivable staff to ensure efficient and effective service delivery to internal and external customers
  • Manage transactional backlogs and drive, support, and assist remediation efforts
  • Oversee priority account and supplier management activities
  • Maintain and regularly update desktop procedures for Fleet Accounts Receivable processes
  • Identify opportunities for process, system, and knowledge improvements and support implementation
  • Coordinate the planning, execution, and completion of improvement projects within the function
  • Provide support to Fleet Accounts Receivable teams in other regions as needed
  • Ensure compliance with Accounts Receivable standards and SOX controls
  • Investigate and resolve critical issues, providing timely corrective actions and solutions
  • Develop team members through coaching, training, performance management, goal setting, and continuous feedback
  • Monitor staff attendance and turnover to ensure adherence to company and HR policies
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels and support recruitment efforts when necessary
  • Serve as a delegate for the Fleet Accounts Receivable Manager in their absence, covering pre-defined responsibilities
  • Lead or support additional Accounts Receivable projects, tasks, and initiatives as assigned

What We're Looking For:

  • 2+ years of Accounts Receivable or accounting experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or higher preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Hertz Accounts Receivable processes and procedures
  • Experience with Oracle or similar ERP systems required
  • Experience in other Hertz business areas is a plus
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to service excellence
  • Ability to prioritize competing tasks for both self and team
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
