About the Job:

Our client, a full-service real estate development and management company, is seeking a Capital Markets Analyst to join their Raleigh team. This role will involve supporting the capital markets function through asset management analysis, modeling acquisitions, closing loans and joint ventures, underwriting, and overall capital markets activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Capital Markets Analyst will contribute to the team by:

  • Underwriting acquisition and development deals for various property types using Excel and Argus software.
  • Preparing investment materials, packages, and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for existing and potential investments.
  • Collaborating with asset and property managers to update investment projections.
  • Preparing and updating quarterly presentations for investor meetings.
  • Assisting in due diligence processes for acquisitions and dispositions.
  • Supporting debt and equity closing processes.
  • Advancing business intelligence initiatives.
  • Conducting market research on current and future investment opportunities.
  • Reviewing tenant leases, rent rolls, operating statements, recovery statements, and other financial documents pertinent to underwriting.
  • Performing other ad hoc analyses as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates should have:

  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience in real estate finance or a related field.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • A strong understanding of financial terms and principles applicable to real estate underwriting (e.g., IRR, NPV, Return on Cost).
  • The ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret various types of real estate documents, including leases, contracts, and financial statements.
  • Proficiency in Excel, ARGUS, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
  • The capability to multi-task effectively to meet deadlines.
