Description of Position
 
TPG is seeking a Vice President to join the Global Communications team, who will support the team in developing and managing communications for TPG's Real Estate businesses, which together manage nearly $40 billion and span a range of investment strategies across the U.S., Europe and Asia. This role provides an opportunity to serve as a key communication partner/liaison to all the firm's Real Estate businesses and stakeholders globally.
 
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong project management skills and excellent written communication. An active interest and understanding of real estate, private equity and credit markets is preferred. Candidates should possess thorough attention to detail, sound judgement and a devoted work ethic.
Principal Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a strategic integrated communications and marketing strategy to support the Real Estate platform across its equity and credit strategies globally.
  • Provide ongoing transaction and portfolio company support, as well as lead proactive and reactive media relations, social media copywriting, and the management of speaking engagements, awards, and reactive issues.
  • Maintain visibility of current and emerging issues and opportunities across real estate markets, including policy and regulatory developments. Share market intelligence with investment and other teams, providing insight into communications and reputational considerations as appropriate.
  • Build and maintain strong network across investment teams, fundraising, Legal & Compliance, HR and other internal stakeholders to inform communications strategies and execute them efficiently and effectively.
  • Develop and manage written materials for various situations and stakeholders, including but not limited to press releases, media talking points and statements, LinkedIn posts, talking points, Q&As, thought leadership articles, internal memos, and award submissions.
  • Help lead management of PR agencies and other third-party partners, as well as maintain relationships with influential media and financial services industry stakeholders.
  • Contribute to broader TPG Communications function priorities, including firmwide brand development, reputation, investor relations, and internal communications initiatives as required.
Requirements
  • At least six (6) years of relevant experience in financial communications within an alternative asset management firm, investment bank, or financial communication agency.
  • Investment management experience is essential; knowledge of and interest in real estate, private equity, and credit markets and strategies is strongly preferred.
  • Strong project manager that exhibits sound judgement. Can progress processes independently and as a collaborative team member.
  • Media relations experience with top tier / trade and financial media relationships, including experience developing and executing various media strategies in offensive and defensive scenarios.
  • Ability to work across geographies and time zones and demonstrated flexibility of communication style to operate effectively. Business travel may be required.
  • Strong storytelling capabilities, ability to develop compelling, differentiated, and effective communications and timely content.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills and ability to manage highly sensitive information with complete discretion.
  • Highly organized, hands-on, and detail-oriented individual that can multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
 
It is expected that the annual base salary for this role will range from $150,000 - $170,000. Base salary is one component of TPG's competitive total rewards package which typically includes discretionary compensation, comprehensive health benefits, and paid time off. Other incentives may also be available to certain eligible employees.
