Job description

Direct Counsel is seeking a Real Estate Associate Attorney to join an Am Law firm’s Real Estate practice in Washington, DC.

This opportunity is ideal for a mid-level associate with strong commercial real estate transactional experience, including acquisitions, financings, and development matters. The role offers immediate responsibility within a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle commercial real estate acquisitions and dispositions

  • Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements

  • Manage real estate financing transactions

  • Assist with development projects and related transactional matters

  • Collaborate with clients and cross-practice teams to drive transactions from inception through closing

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of real estate transactional experience at a law firm

  • Experience with commercial real estate acquisition, sale, financing, and development

  • Strong academic credentials

  • JD from an accredited law school

  • Admission to the DC Bar (or eligibility for prompt admission)

Compensation:
$260,000 – $365,000 base salary, depending on experience and qualifications.
