About the Role

  • Booking acquisitions and dispositions from settlement statements
  • Capital contributions, distributions, and capital account tracking
  • Intercompany loans and partnership accounting
  • Construction and development cost capitalization (land, soft costs, interest)
  • Loan accounting, debt tracking, and lender reporting
  • Monthly and quarterly financial reporting
  • NOI, cash flow, and portfolio-level performance reporting
  • Preparing investor reporting packages
  • Coordinating with external CPAs for tax filings and K-1 support
  • Supporting construction draws and development tracking

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of direct real estate accounting experience (multi-entity required)
  • Experience with real estate/property accounting software (examples): Yardi, AppFolio, MRI, RealPage, Buildium, QuickBooks, Sage, etc.
  • Strong understanding of partnership accounting and investor flows
  • Experience reading and booking real estate settlement statements
  • Working knowledge of real estate tax strategy and transaction tax implications
  • Ability to operate independently and own the accounting function
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
  • CPA preferred but not required

Core Competencies / Skills

  • High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and integrity
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent organization and time management
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
