Job description

The Real Estate Accounting Manager oversees the financial operations related to real estate assets, ensuring accurate accounting and compliance with relevant regulations. This role involves managing accounting teams, coordinating financial reporting, and collaborating with other departments to support the organization’s real estate investment strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the real estate accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Oversee property accounting functions including rent rolls, lease administration, and property expenses.
  • Coordinate month-end and year-end close processes specific to real estate assets.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements for real estate transactions.
  • Prepare financial statements and analysis related to real estate portfolios.
  • Collaborate with property management and asset management teams for budgeting and forecasting.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls related to real estate accounting processes.
  • Support audits and respond to auditor inquiries on real estate accounting matters.
