The Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Discipline organization is the central focus for Mission Systems Integration activities within Raytheon, responsible for defining customer needs, functional and product architecture, requirements definition and decomposition, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), system performance, System Security Engineering (SSE), integration and system level testing, identifying and resolving hardware, software, and networking issues, and developing automated or operator-driven tests in support of system-level integration, verification and validation.

Within SE&TC, Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) is responsible for ensuring our products are Safe, Reliable, Maintainable and delivered on time.  Life Cycle Engineering consists of multiple disciplines that support engineering, our program offices and our customers.  Our Life Cycle Engineering disciplines participate in the total life cycle of our products from conception to deactivation.  Our focus area is product support, including the following disciplines: Logistics, Technical Manuals, Training, Reliability, Maintainability, Supportability and Repair.

Raytheon is seeking a talented and motivated Tech Manual Maintenance Technician to join our team within the Deployment, Fielding, and Sustainment (DFS) Integrated Product Team (IPT), supporting the Lower Tier Air Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS) and GhostEye Radars.

This position will be based in Tewksbury, MA, Huntsville, AL, or El Paso, TX.

The Tech Manual Maintenance Technician (TMMT) is a multi-discipline engineer that will provide Tech Manual (TM) support to the DFS IPT. The TMMT will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) to assist Tech Manual development through extensive knowledge of all required organizational and field maintenance, and operations requirements, in an Integrated Air & Missile Defense (IAMD) environment. The TMMT is a liaison between the TM team and Engineering IPTs and will be accountable for supporting day-to-day execution crucial to the development and delivery of timely and targeted TMs. ​

What You Will Do:

  • Create and maintain technical manuals (TM), including system functional theory, operations, preventive and corrective maintenance, remove and install, and repair parts & special tools.

  • Provide technical assistance and additional technical support functions to TM personnel​.

  • Assist in interpreting and validating technical information that will produce the TM, such as system product information, compiled technical reports, drawings, and parts lists.

  • Interface with the DoD customer and internal partners to optimize TM products and solutions in support of achieving maximum Operational Readiness.

  • Research and analyze documentation, thread memos, trade studies, and engineering subject matter expert (SME) input.

  • Assessing engineering change data for impacts to existing technical content.

  • Provide support, mentorship and/or development across sustainment disciplines.

  • Driving flawless technical, schedule, and cost performance of sustainment products and services that leverage best practices, process optimization, state of the art tools and techniques and people skills by establishing key process and product metrics and driving continuous improvement.

  • Providing SE&TC inputs to proposals, supporting customer proposal negotiations, executing program start-up to include program Integrated Master Plan/Integrated Master Schedule and performance baseline development.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience

  • Experience generating technical process documentation.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience in military environment, graduate of US military sensor or radar technical school (e.g., US Army MOS 94S Radar Repairer; MOS 14E Patriot Fire Control Enhanced Operator / Maintainer).

  • Experience with sensor or radar system operations and maintenance.

  • Understanding and working knowledge of Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs).

  • Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance employing specific TM information.

  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and illustrated parts breakdowns from compiled engineering technical reports, drawings, and parts lists.

  • Understanding of radar system architecture – major assemblies and associated subsystems.​

  • Understanding of Repair, Replace, and Install of selected items with applicable maintenance tools and test equipment.

  • Knowledge and experience in the utilization of Test Measurement Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE), such as torque wrench, multi-meters, oscilloscopes, power meters, frequency counters, spectrum, and digital analyzers.

  • General knowledge of the IBCS C2 Node (EOC) and the Maintainer Monitoring Modules (M3) mission functions, support functions, and non-tactical functions.

  • Excellent technical writing, communication, and collaboration skills.

  • Knowledge of military standards.

  • Ability to correlate, analyze, and interpret data per defined procedures/guidelines.​

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
