Job Description
Location: Rockport, IN
Cleveland-Cliffs, Rockport Works, has immediate opportunities for Production Technicians in the Shipping Department. The Production Technician is responsible for inspecting packaging, receiving, and loading material for shipment by truck or rail.
Summary of Responsibilities:
  • Visual inspection of material on arrival into department for damage
  • Package material according to specifications on the order
  • Maintain accurate inventory locations
  • Ensure storage facilities maintain the quality of product
  • Correct identification and storage of all inbound material
  • Load all outbound material, rail or truck, correctly and according to loading specifications supplied
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Previous manufacturing experience or ability to demonstrate understanding for material flow and proper handling of Work in Process inventories
  • Must be willing and able to work rotating 4 on 4 off (12 hour) work schedule (days/nights/weekends/holidays)
  • Must be willing and able to work in various environments including indoor atmosphere controlled and outside slag-based fields
  • Strong work ethic, stellar attendance record, attention to detail
  • Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Computer skills and hands on experience with information systems is needed to perform job functions in a timely and efficient manner
  • High School diploma/GED
