The Systems Engineering Integrated Systems department leads all aspects of systems engineering to drive the development of complex solutions that support the Raytheon Land and Air Defense Systems (LADS) mission area. The team fosters a world-class group of systems thinkers who collaborate to architect technical solutions for some of the world’s most challenging problems.

As a Radar Systems Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining radar specifications in alignment with established systems engineering processes. You will ensure that system capabilities and requirements are effectively flowed down from the System Specification through the Radar System and Subsystem Specifications, maintaining close alignment with design and verification teams.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing, reviewing, and submitting for approval changes to Radar Performance, Functional, Hardware, Interface, Environmental, Manufacturing, and Fabrication Requirements, leveraging Radar Software Capabilities.

  • Supporting concept development, testing, integration, and verification activities.

  • Coordinating efforts between design, software, and systems requirements teams to ensure seamless execution.

This role is vital in driving innovation and ensuring the successful delivery of cutting-edge radar systems.

What You Will Do

  • Contribute to the development and documentation of Radar Systems Requirements, supporting technical investigations as needed.

  • Assist in generating specification changes related to radar upgrades and maintenance, including updates associated with new development and obsolescence programs.

  • Work under the guidance of senior engineers to support collaboration with Software and Systems Test teams, as well as the USG customer, on radar capabilities influenced by new hardware and algorithm development.

  • Assist the Systems Engineering Lead and Chief Engineers in ensuring alignment between Hardware, Software, and System Requirements.

  • Participate in activities supporting Independent Research and Development (IRAD) projects and internal funding efforts focused on future Radar capability upgrades and innovations.

  • Provide support for Program and Gate Reviews, including Systems Requirements Reviews, Preliminary Design Reviews, Critical Design Reviews, and Test Readiness Reviews. Assist in preparing materials for Independent Reviews (IRs) that occur prior to each gate.     

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.

  • Experience with one or more of the following areas: requirements development, concept development, integration, testing and verification, specification development, tactical air defense systems, and/or software development.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Existing DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to travel domestically and internationally.

  • Strong radar knowledge and expertise in testing and implementation.

  • Comprehensive experience in the product development life cycle and radar systems, including waveform design and signal processing algorithms.

  • Proven ability to interface effectively with external customers and make challenging technical decisions while setting priorities.

  • Familiarity with Raytheon Integrated Product Development System (IPDS) and gating processes.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
