CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking an Entry Level Mechanical Engineer to join our Gas Team at a client site in Spring Valley, NY, where you will contribute to the development of resilient, forward-thinking gas infrastructure. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience, collaborate with skilled professionals, and build a strong foundation in utility engineering.


  • Assist in the design, development, and implementation of technical solutions for crucial transmission and distribution infrastructure for gas utilities
  • Support senior engineers in preparing technical reports, contract documents, and cost estimates
  • Perform calculations and design tasks using industry standards, regulatory guidelines, and best practices for optimizing installation, maintenance, and system reliability
  • Join field assignments with senior staff to gain hands-on experience in assessment, planning, and rehabilitation of gas pipelines and related infrastructure

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering required
  • No experience required; however prior internships and/or relevant coursework are preferred
  • Strong theoretical foundation and familiarity with engineering software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills and a desire to work in a collaborative team
  • Participation in professional engineering society/organization preferred
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification a plus
