Torch Technologies is currently seeking a Radar Engineer to support the Tactical Missile Systems team on Redstone Arsenal. This position is ideal for an engineer/analyst with a demonstrated background in RF phenomenology and algorithm development and testing, and radar simulation and analysis. The candidate will have the opportunity to refine their expertise by working alongside a senior radar engineer to apply foundational RF concepts to the development and analysis of complex, physics-based modeling and simulation of radars and RF phenomenology.

Job Duties:

  • Integrate vendor-supplied RF software models into a common C++ simulation framework and all-digital scene generation environment.

  • Develop, validate, and optimize math and physics-based component models for RF phenomenology (e.g., radar cross section (RCS), environmental clutter, multipath, and atmospheric propagation).

  • Design and develop analysis tools in MATLAB, Python, or C++ to evaluate RF models, digital signal processing algorithms, and overall integrated radar system performance.

Job Requirements:

  • US Citizenship.

  • Bachelor's Degree with 7+ years of experience (or Master's Degree with 5+ years of experience) in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics or a related technical field.

  • Experience using MATLAB, C++, and/or Python to implement mathematical RF models, digital signal processing algorithms, or execute statistical data analysis of radar systems.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven record of effectively communicating complex RF and mathematical topics to multidisciplinary teams and non-subject-matter experts.

  • Must have active Secret security clearance.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience involving tactical missile seeker models, phased array radars, or EW simulations.

  • Experience integrating digital models into software- and hardware-in-the-loop test environments.

  • Proven technical leadership in designing and executing end-to-end simulation Monte Carlo studies from initial concept to final data presentation.
