Job description

What MatX Is Building
MatX is on a mission to be the compute platform for AGI. We are developing vertically integrated full-stack solutions from silicon to systems including hardware and software to train and run the largest ML workloads for AGI. MatX is seeking silicon micro-architects and design engineers to join our team as we create best-in-class silicon for high-performance and sustainable GenAI. Successful candidates for these roles will be responsible for delivering performant and functionally accurate silicon for MatX products across compute, memory management. High-speed connectivity and other key technologies.
About the Role
MatX is building next-generation AI infrastructure systems for high-performance datacenter workloads. We are looking for a Senior NPI TPM, Rack-Scale AI Systems to manage integrated execution for rack and board platforms, spanning engineering builds through the final production ramp.
In this capacity, you will serve as the primary interface for manufacturing execution with external CM/JDM partners. You will coordinate workstreams across material readiness, PLM/BOM/ECO control, factory test deployment, quality metrics, and high-volume ramp readiness for high-performance AI infrastructure.
What You'll Do Here
  • Direct the integrated NPI lifecycle for rack and board platforms, spanning engineering builds through the final volume production ramp.
  • Act as the primary technical interface for manufacturing execution with external CM/JDM partners to ensure factory readiness.
  • Manage master build schedules, configuration matrices, and unit allocation while leading formal build-readiness governance.
  • Coordinate cross-functional workstreams across PLM, BOM control, ECOs, material readiness, and shipment logistics.
  • Oversee integrated execution across PCBA, high-power modules, liquid-cooled trays, and complex rack-level systems.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to finalize DFX requirements, serviceability standards, and factory-flow optimization.
  • Partner with test teams to deploy diagnostics, power characterization, and data-capture infrastructure prior to build kick-off.
  • Define metrics and dashboards to track first-pass yield, quality gates, and corrective actions throughout the development cycle.
  • Engage with Supply Chain to mitigate risks associated with long-lead semiconductor components and material shortages.
  • Lead ECO tracking and revision effectiveness, serving as the central point for build-level change communication.
  • Prepare executive-level reporting that summarizes technical risks, material gaps, and high-volume ramp readiness.
  • Ensure critical learnings from validation phases are captured in playbooks to drive predictable production-readiness plans.
Who you are
  • 8+ years of technical program management, NPI program management, manufacturing operations, hardware operations, or engineering program management experience.
  • Experience driving complex hardware builds through EVT, DVT, PVT, production readiness, and ramp.
  • Experience working with CM, JDM, ODM, or rack-scale manufacturing partners on build planning, factory readiness, issue closure, and manufacturing execution.
  • Experience with BOMs, AVLs, ECOs, configuration management, DFM/DFA/DFT, PCBA manufacturing, final assembly, factory test, and quality systems.
  • Experience tracking manufacturing KPIs such as first-pass yield, defect pareto, rework rate, test pass rate, build cycle time, and quality escapes.
  • Ability to drive schedules, risk management, issue tracking, milestone governance, and executive-level communication.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, test, and external partner teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize build risks, tradeoffs, decisions, and schedule impact.
  • Proficiency with program-management and engineering collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, MS Project, Google Workspace, or equivalent.
Bonus Points If You Have
  • Experience with AI infrastructure, GPU/accelerator systems, datacenter racks, networking systems, storage systems, or high-power server platforms.
  • Experience coordinating programs involving rack-scale integration, liquid-cooled systems, high-speed interconnects, factory diagnostics, or system-level validation.
  • Prior hands-on experience in hardware, manufacturing, test, quality, supply chain, or NPI operations is a plus.
Compensation
The US base salary for this full-time position is determined based on a variety of factors including role, experience, location, job related skills, and relevant education and training. Career length is only a guideline for compensation.
  • Early Career - $120,000 - $275,000 + equity
