Job description

Job Title: Senior VoIP Test Engineer
Location: Mountain View, CA (Onsite – 5 days/week, mandatory)
Employment Type: Contract (W2 Only)
Priority: High / Urgent Requirement

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior VoIP Test Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in VoIP protocols, ATA/CPE device testing, and telecom-grade environments. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in end-to-end call flow validation, remote provisioning, and packet-level analysis within carrier or ISP ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform end-to-end VoIP testing including functional, regression, and interoperability testing
  • Validate SIP-based call flows including signaling and media handling
  • Conduct hands-on testing with ATA/CPE devices in lab environments
  • Execute remote provisioning and configuration using TR-069 protocols
  • Analyze network traffic and troubleshoot issues using packet capture tools
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts for test execution and validation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, network engineering, and operations

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with SIP protocol (REGISTER, INVITE, BYE, SDP, RTP/RTCP)
  • Proven experience with ATA/CPE device testing (e.g., Poly, Grandstream, Cisco, or similar)
  • Experience with TR-069 remote provisioning in a carrier or ISP environment
  • Expertise in Wireshark for packet capture and detailed call flow analysis
  • Proficiency in Python scripting for test automation
  • Minimum 9+ years of experience in VoIP testing
  • Strong understanding of telecom/VoIP architectures and protocols

Preferred Background

Candidates with experience from the following environments will be highly preferred:

  • Internet Service Providers (ISP)
  • Telecom or Unified Communications (UCaaS) platforms
  • VoIP/ATA device manufacturing companies
