Job description

ComResource is seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager.

We need someone to lead infrastructure projects within the Technology Services portfolio. The successful candidate will command a room of executive stakeholders, drive accountability across teams they do not directly manage, and hold scope and schedule discipline under pressure.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage projects across the Technology Services — Infrastructure portfolio from initiation through closure, owning outcomes rather than administering status.
  • Build and maintain integrated work plans, schedules, budgets, resource plans, RAID logs, and PMO governance artifacts; hold owners accountable to committed dates.
  • Own the communications plan and reporting cadence — steering materials, executive briefings, escalation paths, and stakeholder updates.
  • Provide direction and influence to cross-functional technical teams, vendors, and subject-matter experts without direct reporting authority.
  • Apply structured change management to scope, requirements, and expectations, articulating trade-offs clearly enough that executives can decide.
  • Surface risk early, drive issues to resolution, and make the call when a decision is being avoided.

Essentials:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience: Minimum ten (10) years managing enterprise-wide IT projects.
  • Certification: Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification; certificate number and expiration date required at submission.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated record of leading cross-functional project teams and influencing senior stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Communication: Full professional proficiency in spoken and written English, sufficient to independently lead executive meetings, deliver presentations to senior leadership, and produce written materials without editorial support.
  • Exceptional leadership ability — presence, credibility, and ownership; the single most important selection criterion.
  • Executive communication and presentation skills — concise, confident, and effective with VPs and C-level stakeholders.
  • Strong project management discipline — planning, tracking, and follow-through that does not require supervision.
  • Demonstrated change management capability — navigating resistance, trade-offs, and pivotal scope decisions to sound outcomes.

Desired:

  • Portfolio Governance: Experience with portfolio-level governance — intake, prioritization, scoring, and trade-off decisions across a portfolio rather than a single project. A meaningful differentiator; this role is expected to contribute beyond project delivery.
  • Technical Environment: Telecom and VoIP, endpoint management (Intune), Azure and cloud services, networking, virtualization, wireless, data center, and related infrastructure projects.
  • Methodology: Working familiarity across waterfall, Agile (Scrum, SAFe), and hybrid delivery, with the judgment to apply the right approach to the work at hand.
  • Business Analysis: Ability to understand complex technical subject matter well enough to challenge estimates and assumptions.
  • Tooling: ServiceNow PPM, Azure DevOps, or JIRA.
