Position Overview

Rate of pay: $45,000 - $50,000 plus commission and quarterly bonus potential

We're seeking a motivated, experienced In-House Sales Representative based in the Salt Lake City, Utah area to help us expand our established territory in the dynamic quilting and textiles industries. This is a hybrid position, primarily working from home, though occasional travel for local on-site shop visits and office presence will be required.

In this role, you will be responsible for selling fabrics, notions, and related textile products to a diverse customer base, including independent quilt retail shops and manufacturers. As a Sales Representative, you will focus on cultivating new accounts, while maintaining existing client relationships and identifying new sales opportunities.

Our ideal candidate has experience buying or selling wholesale fabric and textiles and is familiar with the sewing and quilting industry. If you're passionate about sales and love building partnerships, and have a proactive, results-driven attitude, we'd love to meet you!

Key Responsibilities

Product Expertise: Maintain a thorough understanding of our textile products, industry trends, and market regulations to offer expert advice to customers.

Customer Growth and Client Management: Identify new business opportunities while developing and sustaining strong, lasting relationships with current clients.

Sales and Orders: Present product samples and create sales orders to meet or exceed sales targets, and demonstrate a strong ability to upsell and cross-sell products.

Reporting and Strategy: Organize and present sales information as needed. Use CRM software (e.g., NetSuite, HubSpot, Pepperi) to track activities, manage orders, and generate sales reports.

Trade Shows and Travel: Represent Riley Blake Designs at industry trade shows (some travel may be required).

Qualifications

Experience: 3+ years in B2B sales preferred, with a proven ability to manage accounts of all sizes and build rapport with decision-makers.

Industry Knowledge: Strong familiarity with quilting fabric or the related textile industry is highly desired.

Performance: A proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales quotas.

Communication: Exceptional communication skills (phone, email, and in person) coupled with strong, empathetic listening skills to truly understand customer needs.

Work Style: Highly self-motivated, proactive, capable of working independently, and flexible enough to contribute innovative ideas to our processes.

Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with ERP and EDI technology.

Education: B.A. or B.S. degree preferred (equivalent industry experience will be considered).
