Overview

The Garabedian Group is seeking a dependable and experienced, Bookkeeper / Accountant with an energetic personality in Fresno, CA. In this role you will contribute to our team by ensuring that our client’s financial records are complete, accurate and up to date. The quality of your work will directly impact the effectiveness of senior professionals and overall firm operations. This position requires a combination of critical thinking and creative problem solving as well as the appropriate skills, knowledge & experience for the position. Excellent communication skills – both written and oral – are a must.

Job Description

· Proactively build relationships and communicate effectively with clients to ensure clients needs are being addressed proactively and issues are resolved in a timely manner, a high level of client satisfaction and trust is maintained consistently.

· In-depth interaction and communication regarding bookkeeping and accounting matters with clients.

· Advising clients on a variety of business-related issues relating to revenue recognition and allowable expenses.

· Bookkeeping including recording of transactions, adjusting journal entries, trial balance reconciliation and general ledger analysis.

· Demonstrate excellent team skills, positive attitude, and high ethical standards.

· Ability to self-manage workflow and client projects.

· Preparation of 1099s, property tax returns, sales tax returns, and city business license filings.

Requirements:

Required Skills & Experience

· Proficiency in all QuickBooks platforms required.

· Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience preferred.

· Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

· Knowledge of accounting procedures, financial reporting, and GAAP.

· Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

· Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines efficiently.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a client-focused environment.

Required Bookkeeping Responsibilities

· Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in QuickBooks.

· Reconcile bank, credit card, loan, and balance sheet accounts.

· Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.

· Maintain accurate client accounting records and support tax preparation.

· Review accounts payable and receivable for accuracy and completeness.

· Communicate professionally with clients regarding accounting matters and missing documentation.

· Recommend process improvements and maintain strict confidentiality of client information.

· Basic understanding of payroll processing, payroll taxes, and related filings.

· QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification is a plus.
