Job description

Implementation Staff Accountant | Fully Remote Opportunity

$28-30 per Hour + 100% Employer-Paid Benefits

Client-Facing Accounting Role | Build the Foundation for Every Client Relationship

If you're the kind of accountant who enjoys taking messy books and turning them into something clean, organized, and dependable, keep reading.

We've partnered with a rapidly growing outsourced accounting and advisory firm that is looking to add an Implementation Staff Accountant to help new clients successfully transition into the firm's accounting ecosystem.

This isn't repetitive monthly bookkeeping.

Every client is different.

Every engagement presents a new challenge.

Your work lays the financial foundation that allows every client relationship to succeed long after the onboarding process is complete.

If you enjoy solving problems, cleaning up financials, learning new industries, and bringing order to complexity, this could be an outstanding opportunity.

Why This Opportunity Is Worth Your Attention

• Every client is different. You'll work with businesses across multiple industries instead of performing the same monthly work over and over.

• Make an immediate impact. Your work creates the foundation for everything the client experiences moving forward.

• Continue growing professionally. You'll collaborate with accounting, payroll, tax, and advisory professionals while expanding both your technical and client communication skills.

• Structured systems without micromanagement. Leadership has developed proven processes and documented workflows while trusting their people to own their work.

• Technology-driven environment. You'll work extensively inside QuickBooks Online while integrating multiple business applications and technologies.

What You'll Do

• Clean up and standardize new clients' QuickBooks Online files

• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, loans, and other balance sheet accounts

• Review historical transactions and resolve accounting inconsistencies

• Prepare adjusting journal entries for accruals, payroll, depreciation, reclassifications, and other necessary corrections

• Prepare accurate financial statements that establish a reliable accounting foundation

• Assist with software implementations including payroll systems, POS integrations, and other third-party applications

• Maintain complete, organized workpapers throughout every implementation

• Communicate directly with clients to request information, answer questions, and keep projects moving forward

• Partner closely with the Implementation Manager and internal accounting team to ensure smooth client transitions

• Complete implementation projects within established timelines

• Recommend workflow improvements that enhance both the client experience and internal efficiency

What Success Looks Like

• Clients begin their ongoing relationship with clean, accurate financial records

• Projects stay organized, on schedule, and well documented

• Financial statements accurately reflect each client's business

• Clients receive proactive communication throughout the implementation process

• Internal accounting teams inherit organized files that require little additional cleanup

• Problems are identified early and solved proactively

What We're Looking For

• Experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably within public accounting, CAS, or an outsourced accounting environment

• Strong QuickBooks Online experience

• QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor certification is preferred or a willingness and ability to earn it quickly

• Solid understanding of reconciliations, journal entries, financial statements, payroll, accrual accounting, and month-end accounting processes

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple implementation projects simultaneously

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Comfortable working independently while collaborating with teammates throughout the day

• Curious, adaptable, and motivated to learn new technologies and accounting systems

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred; applicable experience in a related capacity can suffice in exchange for a formal degree.

The Culture

This is a collaborative, fast-moving team that believes implementation is one of the most important parts of the client experience.

The expectation is not perfection.

The expectation is ownership.

Leadership values people who communicate early, stay organized, ask thoughtful questions, and genuinely care about producing exceptional work for every client.

You'll have the support, training, and resources needed to succeed while being trusted to take ownership of your responsibilities from day one.

If you enjoy solving problems, embracing technology, and helping clients start off on the right foot, you'll fit in well here.

Compensation and Benefits

• $28-30 per hour

• Fully remote work environment

• Professional development and certification opportunities

• Collaborative leadership team invested in your success

• Exposure to a wide variety of industries, businesses, and technologies

Interested?

If you're looking for more than routine bookkeeping and want to play a key role in helping clients successfully launch their relationship with a growing accounting and advisory firm, we'd love to start the conversation.
