About the Opportunity - Bookkeeper

We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper for a short-term temporary assignment with a well-established organization in Nashville. This onsite position will play a key role in supporting day-to-day accounting operations, month-end activities, while also helping guide team members through accounting processes and best practices. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting expertise, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach. This position is expected to last approximately 4-6 weeks and offers the opportunity to make an immediate impact in a professional and mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities - Bookkeeper

  • Process and manage accounts payable transactions with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Perform account reconciliations and credit card reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Assist with month-end close activities, including preparing, reviewing, and validating financial data.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and identify and resolve accounting discrepancies.
  • Document accounting procedures and support process improvements.
  • Train, mentor, and assist newer accounting team members on established workflows and accounting best practices.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accounting deadlines and reporting requirements are met.
  • Utilize accounting software and Microsoft Office applications to support daily accounting functions.

Qualifications - Bookkeeper

  • Previous experience in full-cycle accounting and month-end close processing required.
  • Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Experience with accounts payable, account reconciliations, and financial record maintenance.
  • Prior experience training, mentoring, or supporting less experienced accounting staff preferred.
  • Experience with MIP Fund Accounting software strongly preferred.
  • Candidates without MIP experience must have strong QuickBooks experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new systems, processes, and procedures quickly.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard accounting software applications.
  • Ability to work onsite Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
  • Must successfully complete a background check.
