About Course North

Course North is a bookkeeping and financial management firm that helps small business owners understand their numbers, stay organized, and make better financial decisions. We take bookkeeping off the owner's plate while providing clear, accurate, and up-to-date financial information they can actually use to run their business.


The Role

We're looking for someone who wants more than a task list. The right person will take ownership of their work, stay curious, and help us deliver the accurate and dependable bookkeeping to our clients. This role is a great fit for someone who understands the fundamentals of bookkeeping but, just as importantly, is willing to dig into questions, investigate transactions, and figure things out. You'll work across multiple client accounts and be responsible for keeping their books accurate, organized, and up to date.


What You'll Do

  • Perform weekly bookkeeping for multiple small business clients
  • Categorize and review bank and credit card transactions
  • Reconcile bank, credit card, loan, and other balance sheet accounts
  • Identify unusual, missing, or incorrectly categorized transactions
  • Research transactions and ask questions when something doesn't make sense
  • Work independently while meeting recurring client deadlines


What We're Looking For

  • 2-3+ years of QuickBooks Online experience
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage responsibilities across multiple clients
  • Organizational and time-management skills
  • Comfortable working independently in a hybrid environment
  • Reliable and consistent with recurring deadlines

Position Details

  • 1099 Contractor
  • Approximately 30 hours per week
  • $20–$30 per hour, depending on experience
  • Initial training will be in person in Columbus, Ohio
  • Position will transition to a hybrid work schedule after training
