QuickBooks Online Bookkeeper

Company: Scotts Business Services

Employment Type: Part-Time (15–25 hours/week)

Pay: $24–$30/hour

Location: Hybrid (South Pasadena, CA)

About the Role

Scotts Business Services is looking for a detail-oriented QuickBooks Online Bookkeeper / Payroll Specialist to support our multi-client bookkeeping practice. You'll manage QuickBooks Online for multiple clients — handling bank reconciliations, payroll processing, sales tax, client QBO setup and migration, reporting, and ongoing client support.

What You'll Do

  • Set up and maintain client QuickBooks Online accounts in a multi-entity / multi-client environment
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Process payroll (QuickBooks Payroll and/or other payroll platforms) and support payroll tax filings as needed
  • Track and support sales tax filings
  • Produce regular client reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow summaries) and ad-hoc reports on request
  • Communicate with clients and resolve issues
  • Document workflows and maintain accurate client files

What We're Looking For

Must-Haves:

  • 3+ years of hands-on QuickBooks Online experience in a multi-entity / multi-client bookkeeping environment
  • QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor certification strongly preferred
  • Payroll processing experience (QuickBooks Payroll and/or other major payroll platforms)
  • Strong Excel skills, MS Office experience and Outlook knowledge
  • Solid experience with bank reconciliations, AP/AR, and client file management

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Tax return prep support experience

Soft Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Clear, professional client communication (written and verbal)
  • Strong time management and ability to prioritize across multiple clients and deadlines
  • Ability to follow documented processes and work independently in a remote setting
