Job description

Responsibilities

Provides leadership and oversees the oncology financial advocacy and financial clearance function within the Piedmont Oncology Navigation Center (PONC), aligned to the Patient Connection Center (PCC) operating model. This role manages a high-volume, multi-channel pre-service financial clearance operation and is accountable for ensuring Financial Advocates execute standardized benefit verification, authorization readiness, estimate creation, and financial risk identification workflows that reduce barriers to timely oncology care. The Manager ensures work queue execution, documentation accuracy, quality standards, and adherence to health system protocols and mandated payer guidelines, while partnering with Oncology Operations, Revenue Cycle stakeholders, and Informatics/IS to optimize Epic-enabled workflows (including Beacon-related handoffs) and support decreased time to care.

Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
Work Experience
  • 5 years of patient-facing healthcare, revenue cycle, or contact center experience, to include three (3) years of leadership experience. Required
  • Demonstrated experience leading financial clearance/financial advocacy functions, including benefit verification, authorization requirements, estimates, and escalation of high-risk accounts, preferably in an oncology setting. Required
  • Revenue cycle operational management experience in a multi-hospital and/or employed physician environment Preferred
  • Prior Epic experience Preferred
  • Experience managing multiple work queues/workflows and leading a high-volume environment
