Job description

Operations Manager – Surface SealingPosition Summary

The Operations Manager – Surface Sealing oversees the daily operations of the surface sealing department, ensuring safe, efficient production while meeting quality, delivery, and customer requirements. This role is responsible for supervising employees, maintaining equipment, improving processes, and ensuring compliance with applicable industry and regulatory standards. The Operations Manager reports to the Vice President of Operations or designated senior operations leader.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Manage daily department operations to achieve production, quality, and delivery goals.
  • Supervise, train, and develop department employees and supervisors.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, customer, and industry standards, including aerospace requirements where applicable.
  • Monitor production schedules, equipment performance, and departmental efficiency.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Implement process improvements to increase productivity, reduce costs, and improve quality.
  • Manage inventory, materials, tooling, and production supplies.
  • Develop processing methods and tooling requirements for new products.
  • Support customer and regulatory audits in partnership with the Quality Department.
  • Monitor key performance metrics and take corrective action to achieve operational objectives.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in metal finishing, aerospace manufacturing, or a related manufacturing environment involving coating applications.
  • Previous leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, quality systems, and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with surface sealing or other specialty finishing processes.
  • Familiarity with NADCAP, FAA, AS9100, or similar aerospace quality standards.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
Base salary: $120k+ generous bonus and full benefit package including health, life, dental and vision insurance and 401k match
Pay Details: $120,000.00 per year
