Job description

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Quality Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, implementation, improvement, and successful achievement/compliance of core measure indicators in accordance with CMS guidelines. The coordinator maintains and coordinates timely policies and procedures maintenance, review/revision, posting, and distribution. The Coordinator organizes and maintains systematic data collection and flow of information between departments and into applicable committees.

What you will do in this role:

  • Extract clinical data from Medical Records for various data bases (ex: JCAHO Core Measures, NCDR, Stroke, GWTG).
  • Input data electronically for submission to Quality organizations.
  • Perform special Quality-related projects as necessary.
  • Communicate variances in practice to medical and hospital staff when found.
  • Communicate opportunities for performance improvement to QRM Director and/or Quality Manager.
  • Provide education to medical and clinical staff in relation to evidence-based practices.
  • Attend the daily huddle informing Clinical Directors as to needs for improvement/compliance.
  • Assist with compiling results for presentation at committee.
  • Participate in appropriate committee discussion of improvement opportunities. 

What qualifications you will need:

  • RN Diploma or Associateโ€™s Degree in Nursing required.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Tennessee or compact state required.
  • 3 years of clinical RN experience required; critical care experience preferred.
  • Prior Quality Data Abstraction or related experience preferred.
  • Previous computer experience including Meditech and database software required.
