Titan Florida, LLC, has an opening for a Quality Control Lab Supervisor in the Cement Division. This salary exempt position is assigned to the Quality Control Lab and will report to the Quality Control Manager. This position is responsible for the Cement Quality Control of the Pennsuco Cement Plant. The primary responsibility is the safe management of the QC Lab and staff. In addition, the role is key contact for maintaining compliance of the Pennsuco products under these protocols. They will be responsible for the process control, quality control, and quality assurance sampling and testing of daily production, raw materials and fuels.  In addition the position is responsible to maintain the requirements of the quality management system in accordance to AASHTO R18 and be responsible of obtaining and maintaining adequate records and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain excellent team building relationships with coworkers and personnel.
  • Ensure the equipment is operated clean and safe.
  • Oversee the sampling and testing of Cement in order to determine product compliance to ASTM and Titan America specifications.
  • Interface with and advises Production on quality matters.
  • Maintain and update the Quality Control Program (QCP).
  • Record and report information in accordance with ASTM requirements.
  • Monitor material handling in order to assure compliance.
  • Communicate respectively trends in test results.
  • Assist in troubleshooting, maintenance, calibrations and certifications of all lab equipment which requires vendor or internal maintenance interaction.
  • Ensures accurate results in testing via equipment operation.
  • Provide root cause analysis and problem solving on quality issues.
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures for performing analytical testing in the Quality Control Department according to the Quality Management System Guidelines.
  • Provide technical support for sales customer interaction on technical issues.
  • Measure compliance and quality standards by completing data analysis and reporting.
  • Provide training to quality personnel
  • Use all quality resources to include inhouse staff to achieve all above.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors in Chemistry, Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of cement manufacturing and testing desired but not indispensable.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Experience supervising teams.
  • 13 year of experience in quality control are a plus.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Balance of people and intellectual abilities oriented towards team work and communication skills.
  • Inquisitive and proactive attitude.
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical and technological concepts as applicable.
  • Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Advanced technological capabilities to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to document and write reports as requested.
  • Safety focused and able to participate in safety centered work culture.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
  • Must be billingual in English and Spanish.
  • Able to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and be able to lift 50 lbs. on a repetitive basis.
  • Must possess a valid FL driver's license, and maintain a clean motor vehicle history.
